Master Doug Wilke began his martial arts career in 1966 at Cheezic Tang Soo Do headquarters on East Main Street in Waterbury. A successful entrepreneur, he is owner of the USA Martial Arts, comprising of no less than eight federation branches including Naugatuck, Woodbury, Middlebury, Bethlehem, Roxbury, Cornwall, Washington and Bridgewater. Master Wilke is a hands on owner who teaches karate full time. He holds an Associates Degree from Mattatuck Community College and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut and also hold a 1st Dan in Jujitsu.
Master Wilke has been an accomplished tournament competitor throughout his career, holding national rankings in sparring, weapons and forms from 1993 through 1995. In 1996, he was inducted into the Professional Karate League (PKL) Hall of Fame, followed by 2004 honors bestowed by the Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He is a specialist in his weapon of choice - the bo staff.
Master Wilke is passionate about his efforts to "lead by positive example and spread the knowledge and benefits of Cheezic Tang Soo Do through instruction and good will."
